Husband’s and Wives

God created marriage when he said it was not good for Adam to be alone and made them male and female in Genesis. He left precepts (guidelines for marriage in the bible).

Be Content With Your Wife

“Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth” Proverbs 5:18 (KJV).

Be Faithful

“And this second thing you do. You cover the LORD’s altar with tears, with weeping and groaning because he no longer regards the offering or accepts it with favor from your hand. But you say, “Why does he not?” Because the LORD was witness between you and the wife of your youth, to whom you have been faithless, though she is your companion and your wife by covenant. Did he not make them one, with a portion of the Spirit in their union? And what was the one God seeking? Godly offspring. So guard yourselves in your spirit, and let none of you be faithless to the wife of your youth. “For the man who does not love his wife but divorces her, says the LORD, the God of Israel, covers his garment with violence, says the LORD of hosts. So guard yourselves in your spirit, and do not be faithless” Malachi 2:13-16 (ESV).

Also Proverbs 5:18; Ecclesiastes 9:9; Song of Solomon 4:12 tells husbands to rejoice with the wife of his youth, it means appreciate her, value her, celebrate her, laugh with her and love her.

Husband’s and Wives

I’ve heard it said that marriage doesn’t come with a manual, not true. God had laid down guidelines, but either the husband or wife or both refuses to comply seeking to follow the path of culture or the norm. When you follow God’s way you have a marriage made in heaven enjoyed on earth, but it up to you to make the necessary change!

rose-3063284_640What I’ve observed is a husband expecting so much from his wife and giving her nothing or hardly anything in return or a wife doing the same to her husband. This is abuse.

As with anything when you misuse and abuse it, it becomes of no value to the abuser and both parties err here.

Do you love, appreciate and value your wife?

Do you love, value and appreciate your husband?

If you responded Yes, to the question. Do they know it? How do you show your spouse that you love, value and appreciate them?

Going back to that marriage manual, have you read the above scriptures? Read them and measure your marriage success by them and if you’re still sceptical read Ephesians Chapter 5: 22-32 (this is the bedrock scripture for Love Nurture).

Don’t seek to be like other husbands or wives. just seek to be the best husband and wife for your own spouse. This is the start of real transformation and a God centred marriage.

Put your thoughts below and remember to keep it honest.
