A Talent For Writing

I’m so proud of my ‘little miss’ who has recently been awarded a certificate of merit following in her big sister’s and mother’s footsteps. We’re a family of writers! Who knew? 😀

somechis-writing-certificate“Whispers in the street travel through the town. They stare intently; I turn around, they all go. Prtetend you can’t see me? I see everyone. I was like everyone else. Now, they see a translucent figure of what could have been human. When I see people they start to lose humanity.  I wish I could see myself. I can’t see myself.  Lights start fading, everything turns black. I see him, claiming to be my doctor, that would mean need help. I see no one I can’t help but lose my humanity, living in this place my doctor calls an asylum” – A poem by Somechi Obuaya (14).
