Teaching Young Women Sound Doctrine

This has been a long time coming.

Many years ago a few people asked if I could incorporate young women into the Love Nurture functions to help prepare them for marriage. Unfortunately, I declined as I was short-sighted and didn’t want to do it or see how it would work.

However, God has a way of bringing people round to His will and purpose. One,  He gave me 3 daughters who benefit from and love my life lessons/soundbites/advice/counsel. Additionally, He caused someone else to tell me point blank over a year ago that I will be mentoring young women. Not wanting to be disobedient and not wanting to die not fulfilling everything I’ve been called to do (now that I know it is God’s will for me to do) I’m more than happy to get started.

Teaching Young Women Sound Doctrine

God has always wanted older women like me to teach young women and to help prepare them for later life experiences and I lay out a few biblical references to confirm below, namely:-

  • and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled – Titus 2:4-5 (ESV).
  • and treat older women as you would your own mother. Show the same respect to younger women that you would to your sister – Timothy 5:2 (CEV).

I remember being taught by a much older woman when I was younger and listening to her advise saved me a lot of grief. The reason why you should listen to and take advise from older women is nothing beats the experience of someone older and wiser when it comes to protecting someone else from making mistakes they or others made – and we know mistakes can be costly.

That being said, I would like all the young women and teenage girls reading this to respond in the comment box below to let me know how I might be best able to help teach you. Find out about joining my future podcasts discussing various topics or issues you raise.

Take care and keep safe.
